Combatting Hunger Pangs

Today I am 6 days into my half assed approach and 3 days from my official Paleo Diet 30 day Challenge.  I haven't quite figured out the perfect balance to stave off my hunger for more than 2 hours at a time so I am eating many times a day.  In the past, when I was hungry, I grabbed a piece of wheat nut bread with a slices of avocado or ate some rice and beans.  Now I will grab a handful of almonds and eat an avocado plain.

My dinners have consisted of a serving of fish or chicken and what seems like a bucket load of veggies.  Two hours later I am hungry again!  I thought I had stocked my kitchen full of Paleo friendly foods but I need to go back to the drawing board before Wednesday rolls around.  I definitely need to get some of the big flakes of coconut that my friend had at her house and find some other quick to prepare things to eat when I find myself hungry before I go to bed.

On Friday I cheated but I haven't really started the diet, right?  So, technically, I haven't cheated yet.  I drank wine and ate some very non-Paleo things for dinner.  Today is the Super Bowl and I am going to a sportsbar with some friends.  I know I will have a few beers and I will eat buffalo chicken wings with blue cheese dressing.  I am almost feeling sorry for my body for feeding it beer and the sugar that I know is in the dressing.  I am really beginning to think of food as fuel for my body rather than just something to satiate my hunger.

I CAN make this life style change and I WILL accomplish my goal to lose at least 50 lbs by this time next year!
